The Lost Citadel

The Spanish never found Machu Picchu; the cloud forest hid it until 1911. It sits on a saddle between two peaks, its terraces and temples aligned to the sun and the surrounding mountains. The whole Sacred Valley is laced with Inca engineering — this world walks up to the citadel through it.
