The lakes of the Canadian Rockies are coloured by glacial silt — 'rock flour' so fine it hangs in the water and scatters the light back as turquoise. On a still morning, with the Ten Peaks doubled in the surface, the whole valley looks like something drawn for a storybook rather than found on a map.
