At 3,650m the Salar de Uyuni is a sea of salt the size of a small country, left by a lake that dried ten thousand years ago. In the wet season a skin of water turns all 10,000 km² into the world's biggest mirror; walk out onto it and the clouds are underfoot, the horizon gone, and you seem to be standing in the sky.
